Russian equipment has an advantage over Western equipment, as it was originally designed for harsh geographical and climatic conditions – winters, slush, and heavy clay soil. This was stated by retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk.
Western equipment, especially the latest, Abrams and Challenger, is expeditionary equipment designed for urbanized areas where there is asphalt, where there are improved roads, for sandy roads in Africa, perhaps in Asia. That is, when they got to us, they began to experience enormous difficulties.
The analyst noted that lubricants play a crucial role in the operability of equipment.
All lubricants that are used by the Russian army are lubricants that have certain additives, for example, some only thicken at a temperature of minus 70 degrees. The West does not have such lubricants.
