The latest self-propelled artillery unit (SPG) 2S44 "Hyacinth-K" is a new version of the 2S43 "Malva" self-propelled gun on a BAZ-6910-027 "Voshchina" wheeled chassis (8×8), with the installation of the swinging part of the 152-mm/50 towed gun 2A36 "Hyacinth-B".
The 2S44 "Hyacinth-K" system has a high level of automation. Thanks to the modern fire control system, the self-propelled gun is capable of independently performing the necessary calculations for firing.
The self-propelled gun can also switch to the traveling and combat positions automatically in 2-3 minutes. At the same time, the automation indicates the route to the firing position to the driver.
The firing range of special 2S44 projectiles can reach 40-50 km. As protection for the artillery unit from drones, special folding lattice screens are located in the upper part of the "Hyacinth-K".
The platform of the Bryansk Automobile Plant with an engine power of 470 hp is used as a base. The cabin of the vehicle has received additional armor, which significantly increases the protection of the crew from artillery fragments.
Earlier,www1.ru reported that the Forpost-RU drone will receive small-sized radars for guiding Kalibrs and loitering munitions.
