Only about a thousand units of this weapon were produced

Work on the weapon was carried out in the 50s of the last century in the Tula TsKB-14 as part of a competition to create a single machine gun for the Soviet Army. The competitor was the Kalashnikov machine gun, which later became famous throughout the world.

During the tests, engineers identified shortcomings, but a number of technical solutions were successfully applied in subsequent developments. In total, about 1000 machine guns were produced and sent for storage.
