The Moscow Production Association "Metallist" (part of Rostec) has developed the "Cometa" bionic knee module for lower limb prosthetics. The product will be sent to mass production in the first quarter of 2025.
The prosthesis body is made using 3D printing from a unique corrosion-resistant, high-strength alloy of Russian production. The microprocessor built into the product collects and processes data in real time, and the neural network predicts the rhythm of walking. The main feature of "Cometa" is its operation for up to 10 days on a single charge.
The bionic module was tested at the end of 2024. Several testers, including Olga Liverova, used it in everyday life.
With this prosthesis, I can walk, go up and down stairs, perform any everyday tasks, dance, and even play sports, such as parachuting.
"Cometa" allows you to quickly and safely perform various tasks, she summarized.
