Face Pay to be Implemented at All Moscow Metro Turnstiles by the End of 2025

Biometric Payment Will Reduce Fares and Speed Up the System

Biometric fare payment will be available at all turnstiles of the Moscow Metro by the end of 2025, according to the Moscow Department of Transport. To achieve this, additional Russian-made equipment will be installed at the stations, ensuring high system performance.

Face Pay technology allows passengers to pass through turnstiles without using cards, phones, or cash. Additionally, biometric payment offers the lowest fares. Authorities assure that the system is secure, with a banking-level security and all data encrypted.

Biometric payment has already proven itself as a reliable and convenient payment tool. According to the Department of Transport, the service has been used over 140 million times since its launch, with more than 160,000 passages made daily. The department emphasizes that such a large-scale and convenient solution for passengers has not been implemented anywhere else in the world.
