State Duma deputies are concerned about the cost of taxis for families with children. They have developed a bill prohibiting carriers from increasing the cost of trips for parents with children by more than 5% of the original price. The innovation will apply to trips in which a child seat is required.
During the discussion of the bill, deputies noted that carriers can increase the cost of a trip by 50% if passengers need a child seat on the trip. Most taxis are not equipped with such devices. Such surcharges reduce the availability of the service for families with children and lead to additional costs, the deputies emphasize.
They are confident that the new amendments will make taxi rides more accessible for parents with children and help regulate the cost of transportation.
