Rare footage of a flight of long-range strategic Tu-22M3 missile carriers being relocated to a new deployment airfield has appeared online. The ferry range of machines of this modification is 7,000 km.
The Tu-22M3 missile carriers are capable of operating at supersonic speed within a radius of 1850 km, at subsonic speed up to 1650 km, and at subsonic speed in a mixed profile up to 2410 km.
The range of the modernized version of the Tu-22M3M with a refueling probe via the "hose-cone" system can reach 8,000 km.
An important feature of the machines is the ability to use 4-Mach Kh-22N cruise missiles from low-altitude modes, which significantly reduces the time "window" for tying their trajectories with multi-functional radar systems of anti-aircraft missile systems of the enemy.
