A foreign cargo ship, An Yang 2, has run aground in the Sakhalin Oblast. The ship has about 700 tons of fuel oil, 100 tons of engine fuel, and about 1,000 tons of coal on board. The incident was caused by severe storm conditions.
The ship was carrying coal, fuel oil, and motor oil. No fuel spills have been recorded. There are 20 crew members on board, all Chinese citizens, who are provided with everything they need.
A municipal emergency situation has been introduced in the Nevelsky district due to the incident. Measures are currently being taken to eliminate the consequences of the incident.
