Another RSD59 project vessel was laid down in Nizhny Novgorod at the Krasnoye Sormovo plant (part of USC). This was reported by the press service of the shipbuilding enterprise.

The procedure involves installing a закладная доска (a metal plate measuring 20 by 30 cm) on the frame frame of the first section of the dry cargo ship.

The company has already built 5 series of the RSD59 project.

Dry cargo ships are used to transport:

  • general and bulk cargo
  • packaged lumber
  • round timber
  • scrap metal
  • metal in bundles and rolls
  • dangerous goods
  • cargo category B (containing explosive substance)
