КМЗ разработает импортозамещающую энергоустановку для скоростных катеров «Метеор 120Р»

Hybrid drive will allow boats to moor without diesel

The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ), a military-industrial holding, is developing a hybrid power plant for Meteor 120R hydrofoil boats.

The uniqueness of the project lies in the new hybrid drive with electric motor elements, which will allow the Meteor 120R to moor without using a diesel engine, ensuring environmental friendliness in the coastal zone.

The equipment being developed will form the basis for creating highly efficient ship power plants. Until now, river passenger hydrofoil vessels in Russia have been equipped with power plants of foreign manufacture.

KMZ plans to replace imported diesel-reduction units with domestic ones in already completed ship and vessel projects, thereby implementing import substitution of European manufacturers.

222 million rubles have been allocated for the implementation of the project, and KMZ will allocate another 55 million rubles from its own funds. As part of the project, more than 100 jobs will be created at the plant.

The development results are intended to be used as main engines on the Meteor 120R project vessels of JSC "CDB for SEC named after R. E. Alekseev". KMZ plans to equip 16 vessels by 2027.
