The sports Lada Iskra with a 173 hp engine debuted last weekend at the "Race of Champions" in Sosnovka. The car was tested with an electric power steering system from the Avtoelektronika enterprise.
The unit performed "excellently" in extreme conditions of racing competitions, the Kaluga Region Development Agency said. Serial models of Lada Iskra will also receive domestic EPS.
Production of Lada Iskra will begin in the first quarter of 2025, the model may occupy a niche between Granta and Vesta.
The car will receive 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engines with a capacity of 90 and 106 hp, a Chinese variator and a six-speed "mechanics", depending on the version.
