Underwater drone for mine clearance in marine areas developed in Russia

The complex is capable of finding mines at depths of up to several hundred meters

A new underwater drone for clearing marine areas of mines has been developed in Russia. The device is capable of detecting explosive devices at a depth of several hundred meters, including under a layer of silt.

The drone will also be useful in protecting ships, guarding gas pipelines and other underwater objects.

The state corporation Rostec took part in the development of the project, equipping the drone with "eyes" - special video cameras that allow it to navigate underwater and serve as a guidance system for destroying mines. The complex also includes powerful lights and a control unit.

The drone's software incorporates the latest technology, thanks to which the clarity of the image is not blurred when the drone's speed increases.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the concern Kalashnikov has developed two new modifications of the AK-12 assault rifle.
