Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) has introduced new robotic equipment at the enterprise for applying a secondary primer to the bodies of all UAZ models, the Sollers pickup line and the Sollers Argo family.
The company noted that four robots in the paint shop have completely automated the primer application process. Polyester secondary primer is applied by electrostatic method in two layers, while the previous electrostatic painting method allowed painting in only one.
The design of the robots includes innovative application systems, including high-speed turbines with nozzles, which allow the primer to be evenly distributed over the entire surface of the body.
The new equipment will significantly improve the quality of body preparation for applying colored enamel and increase the efficiency of material consumption during painting, which will ultimately have a positive impact on the result, making our products more attractive to consumers and saving money in production.
Due to uniform and stable application, the durability of the paintwork of the car increases. About 200 bodies and 30 cargo compartments pass through the priming section daily.
