The Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation has begun developing seagoing hydrofoil vessels. Discussions with customers and the development of documentation are currently underway, noted Renat Mistakhov, General Director of the corporation.
According to him, engineers are currently developing a technical project and working design documentation.
I think the first vessel may appear in 2026. This year, we hope to reach an understanding on the economics with the customer and launch the project.
Mistakhov suggested that the project would be of interest to large companies involved in transportation on the Black Sea.
In early 2021, the Zelenodolsk plant launched the production of a new generation of high-speed passenger hydrofoil vessels of project 03830 "Meteor-2020." At that time, two "Meteor-2020" vessels were laid down for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. The first vessel was launched in June 2022.
