The 2GIS geoservice has added a direct payment function for public transport fares. For now, the service is only available to residents of Kostroma, but it already covers all city routes.
To pay for a ride, users can open the "Travel" menu in the app and click the "Pay for ride" button. The system automatically determines suitable routes using geolocation and displays current fares. Manual adjustment is also available — simply enter the vehicle's license plate number, which is indicated in the cabin.
After payment, the app generates an electronic ticket that can be presented to the controller.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that fare payment by geolocation will be available in more than 10 cities in Russia.
