The Russian Ministry of Defense has presented a video of the combat operation of the heavy flamethrower system "Solntsepyok". The published footageshows the system launching a series of thermobaric projectiles.
TOS-1A "Solntsepyok" is a modernized version of the TOS-1 "Buratino". The system performs combat missions in close combat and on the line of contact with the enemy, and is used to support infantry and tanks.
"Solntsepyok" uses unguided 220 mm rockets with a thermobaric warhead to destroy targets with a volumetric explosion.
Recently, TOS-1A have been equipped withindividual radio countermeasures "Lesochek", which have proven to be excellent in suppressing the command and telemetry channels of FPV drones.
Main characteristics of TOS-1A "Solntsepyok":
- Readiness time for opening fire - 90 sec
- Number of launch tubes - 24 pcs
- Caliber - 220 mm
- Firing range - from 600 m to 6000 m
- Duration of a full salvo - 6 sec
