Moscow authorities have begun testing the automatic online top-up activation feature for "Troika" cards and "Moscow Resident Card" on buses and electric buses.
According to Deputy Mayor in the Moscow Government Maxim Liksutov, this function is already operating in test mode on some validators. Public transport passengers can pay for their fare and simultaneously record a ticket purchased online onto the card without having to press the validator button, although this option is still available.
We continue to develop Moscow's ticketing system on behalf of Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. This year, we plan to launch this service on all 25,000 bus and electric bus validators.
Last year, remote top-up activation for "Troika" and "Moscow Resident Card" was implemented on all metro, MCC turnstiles and tram validators. This has become one of the most anticipated improvements in the capital's ticketing system.
For the convenience of users, we recommend topping up "Troika" and "Moscow Resident Card" through the "Moscow Metro" application, available on Google Play, App Store, AppGallery and RuStore.
