The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has unveiled the fourth-generation non-nuclear submarine "Amur 1650" of project 677E. The submarine can carry both torpedo and missile equipment.
USC noted that the submarine project is characterized by a significantly increased cruising range in the submerged position.
The "Amur 1650" submarine is capable of operating effectively both in the ocean and in the coastal zone. The technical characteristics of the submarine of project 677E allow it to effectively participate in anti-submarine operations, support the actions of land forces, as well as perform tasks of reconnaissance and sabotage, as well as lay mines.
The "Amur 1650" is armed with an integrated Club-S missile system with a firing range of up to 300 km, torpedoes with a firing range of up to 50 km, and a Lira sonar system with a towed low-frequency antenna.
Thanks to the low level of underwater noise and advanced technologies in the field of gyroacoustics, the submarine can detect the enemy in advance while remaining undetected.
Characteristics of project 677E:
- Displacement — 1765 t
- Main dimensions (length, width, height) — 66.8/7.1/6.7 m
- Operating depth — 300 m
- Underwater/surface speed — 19/10 knots
- Cruising range — 6000 miles
- Crew — 35 people
- Underwater autonomy — more than two weeks
