One small detail of "Kalash" saved the life of a Russian soldier

Mine fragments tore apart the aluminum forend of the AK-47, but the soldier survived

Weapon tuning has often saved the lives and health of Russian soldiers. In one case, in battle, an elongated aluminum forend on an AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifle protected a soldier from shrapnel after a mine explosion.

The soldier continued to use the same weapon for another three months, as the damage did not affect the functionality in any way. Later, he replaced the forend of the machine gun with a new one.

We want to express our opinion: the forend is good, it works. The most important thing is that even with such damage it does not lose its properties and has fully justified itself.

The AK-47 was adopted by the Soviet Army and Navy. Reliability and ease of use have made the Kalashnikov assault rifle the most common weapon in the world. The AK-47 weighs 4.3 kg and has a 30-round magazine with 7.62 x 39 mm caliber.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the "feature" of the modernized Su-25SM3 attack aircraft became known.
