Rostec hopes to complete all certification tests of the aircraft in 2025

Serial production of the domestic MC-21 aircraft will begin in 2026, according to Sergey Chemezov, head of the Rostec state corporation.

According to Chemezov, the company hopes to complete the aircraft's certification tests in 2025.

We need to complete all certification tests now. I hope that we will complete all the flights this year. There are a lot of flights. And, starting next year, serial production will begin.

The MC-21 is a Russian project for a short-to-medium-range passenger aircraft that will replace the Tu-154 and the Tu-204 family in the domestic market. It can also be an alternative to foreign-made aircraft. The aircraft is designed for flights up to 6,000 km. The aircraft may also receive a long-range version.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reported that the authorities expect that the first deliveries of the domestic MC-21 aircraft to airlines could begin as early as 2025.
