Russian innovative fiber-optic FPV drones "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky" have struck several dozen units of heavy armored vehicles, including main Western tanks, according to Alexey Chadaev, General Director of the "Ushkuynik" Research and Production Center (RPC).
Among the tanks hit are Leopard 2A6, American Abrams M1A1, and British Challenger 2. The drones also destroyed T-64 tanks, American M777 howitzers, and French-made Caesar self-propelled artillery units, as well as American-made M109 Paladin self-propelled guns.
The FPV-drone "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky" on fiber optics was first tested in combat conditions in August 2024. The device is not affected by electronic warfare systems and allows performing tasks that are impossible for conventional drones.
Earlier www1.ru reported that "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky" drones with thermal imagers have entered mass production.
