The "smart" sight for small arms from the Kalashnikov concern can help the military more effectively shoot down unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Thanks to machine learning, the complex automatically detects the target and can fire when aimed at it, noted small arms specialist Konstantin Lazarev.
If small arms are equipped with such sights, then the priority target will be UAVs. The "smart" sight should cope with analyzing the trajectory of the drone at high speed, which is a difficult task. The system must quickly compare a huge number of factors and allow the soldier to take a shot.
According to him, the system is capable of increasing the effectiveness of firing from various weapons. Products of this type will primarily arm special forces due to the significant cost of systems of this class.
For a professional with extensive experience, such a sight will most likely be of great help, because it will at least reduce the aiming time. The complex will simplify the combat work of military personnel, as it will take over the calculations necessary for firing.
The sighting system includes a rangefinder module with an electronic weather station and ballistic computer, as well as a sight with an image recognition module.
