Russian Geran-2 strike drones continue to master new modes of flight to targets. More and more videos are appearing on the Web showing loitering munitions moving at extremely low altitudes.
The Telegram channel "Military Informant" reported that such piloting is necessary in order to make winged kamikaze less noticeable to enemy air defense systems.
Low altitude significantly complicates firing with anti-aircraft weapons from the ground.
Last month it became known that the Geran-2, in the "hill" mode, increased the practical ceiling of flight altitude to 8500-10000 m and dive speed. In the gasoline version of the drone, the maximum speed reaches 200 km/h.
Drones have learned to identify areas of suppression and spoofing GPS signals, as well as record video and instantly assess the results of the hit.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the innovative fiber optic drone "Knyaz Vandal" will be produced under franchise in various regions of Russia.
