The "Tornado-S" multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) significantly surpasses European counterparts. The complex is capable of operating in any temperature conditions and under any circumstances, said a Russian serviceman with the call sign "Trainer".
We have repeatedly observed equipment from Europe. Which is so praised, and from our friends from across the ocean. We looked, they have many interesting gadgets, but our equipment was created by designers so that we can perform tasks in such temperature conditions, from -50 to +50.
"Tornado-S" is a deeply modernized version of the "Smerch" MLRS. Improvements have been made to ammunition, communications and control equipment. As a result, the developers managed to significantly increase the firing range, accuracy and firepower of this type of MLRS.
The complex has 12 guides for 300-mm rockets. At the same time, the system is capable of hitting targets at a significantly greater range than "Smerch": 120 km versus 70-90 km. The calculation is armed with, among other things, guided munitions.
