The Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center has begun testing the operation of the Teledroid robot. The device is planned to be used on the ISS, ROS, and the Moon, according to the head of the CTC, Maxim Kharlamov.
The anthropomorphic Teledroid is designed to work in space. It can operate in two modes: automatic and teleoperated.
All information is transmitted to the operator on the control panel or VR headset. The robot works on the basis of artificial intelligence. Upon receiving a command, it will be able to plan actions to execute it.
Also, as part of a new project, the CTC is testing a new robotic stand - an analogue of the Teledroid robot. They will assist cosmonauts in performing various tasks and conducting experiments.
The devices can be controlled from the CTC or remotely. In the future, robots will partially replace the crew.
Flight tests of the robot are scheduled for this year. The device will be sent to the Russian segment of the ISS.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian cosmonaut training system was recognized as the best in the world.
