The state corporation notes that the final scenario for deorbiting the ISS will still be discussed with NASA

Russian cosmonauts, along with American and European astronauts, have been conducting all the necessary experiments on the ISS for 26 years, "despite the political situations that have developed over these years." However, the station is now not in the best condition for conducting scientific research. This was stated in an interview with RBC-TV by the head of Roscosmos State Corporation, Yuri Borisov.

Today, our cosmonauts are more engaged in repairing equipment, and less and less time is left for conducting experiments. And the basic equipment was developed 26 years ago. Of course, the plan is to deorbit with our American colleagues somewhere around 2030. The final scenario will probably be clarified, including with the arrival of the new NASA administration. At least, we discussed with the old administration that this is the 2030 mark. And in order not to have a break in the manned program, we are simply obliged to replace the Russian segment of the international station with our domestic one. Although it is called the "Russian" orbital station, it is an open project. We invite all friendly countries to it and are ready to provide a wide range of participation: from conducting individual scientific experiments to delivering scientific equipment, training cosmonauts, to building individual national modules.
Yuri Borisov, head of Roscosmos State Corporation

Borisov noted that there are now more than 90 countries in the world that have their own space agencies, but only Russia, China, and the United States have the maximum development of turnkey space technologies and are ready to actively cooperate in space experiments with Russia.

Therefore, the state corporation has high hopes for the ROS, and in order for them to be justified, it is necessary to complete all work on its construction on time according to the general schedule.

The most important thing is to ensure the rhythm of fulfilling the obligations undertaken. Otherwise, if our deadlines slip, a break in the manned program can be very costly for us — competencies are lost. For example, the Cosmonaut Training Center, if it does not launch, what will it do, who will it train? The experience, the negative experience of our American colleagues, they shared with us, when the shuttles left, and a new carrier had not yet been born, they painfully experienced this moment and warned us: do not allow a break [in your program]! Therefore, today the deadlines for creating the Russian station are related to the completion of the ISS. 2027 — the launch of the first module, then the gateway docking [module], the basic one, and the completion of the station. In 2030, it will already be visited, inhabited, and cosmonauts can fly in and conduct experiments. And the completion [of the ROS] will be in 2032. But the very principle of modular construction of this station, which is the basis of the project, allows you to increase these modules, change them. And therefore, one of the features [of the ROS] is the long-term [operation], was planned at the start of this object.
Yuri Borisov, head of Roscosmos State Corporation

Earlier it became known that Roscosmos will sell off old space technology. Auctions will be held to sell objects that are not of great historical value.
