Будьте бдительны: топ-3 самых распространенных мошеннических схем в 2025 году

Artificial intelligence makes fakes more and more convincing

In the coming year, as in the past, fraudsters will actively use various schemes to obtain personal data of Russians. Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, said that the most common of these will be hacking accounts on "Gosuslugi", messages in messengers on behalf of managers, and at the same time, fraudsters will continue to use AI technologies.

The top 3 schemes have not changed: fraudulently obtaining data to steal an account on "Gosuslugi", a "fake boss" or communication in messengers on behalf of the manager, as well as fake calls from departments.

According to him, in 2025, fraud schemes are likely to remain the same. However, there is a possibility that fraudsters will begin to more actively use artificial intelligence technologies for their own purposes, the expert noted.

He stressed that criminals are improving their methods, trying to bypass bank fraud protection systems. In particular, they are increasingly offering their victims to withdraw money from ATMs and transfer it to couriers, as they understand that online transfers will be blocked.

If unusual customer activity is detected, for example, when a person suddenly withdraws a large amount of cash from an ATM, although they usually use a bank card, specialists temporarily block the transaction until the situation is clarified.

Kuznetsov also said that criminals have begun to force people to open accounts in less reliable financial institutions. Victims transfer their funds there, and the attackers withdraw them. This trend indicates the need for a comprehensive approach to solving the problem at the level of the entire market, the top manager believes.

Earlier, police identified two new methods of fraud that attackers use to gain access to citizens' personal accounts on the "Gosuslugi" portal and steal funds. In the first case, attackers call and introduce themselves as support staff. They ask the victim to name the code from the received SMS message, which is allegedly required to extend the service agreement for the number.

Another way is to assign a new number to someone who is already registered on "Gosuslugi". Attackers are looking for old numbers that are no longer used by their owners, but are still available for reuse by telecom operators.
