In 2024, three new Volga car models were registered in Russia — K30, K40, and S40. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Russian Automobile".
All three cars are registered in Nizhny Novgorod. The new "Volgas" are rebadged Changan cars that were presented last spring.
The paradox is that these "Volgas" do not and cannot have a Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS), and when оформляя a Vehicle Safety Certificate (СБКТС), the applicant does not have the right to rename the car. How these cars were registered specifically as "Volgas" and not as Changan is a mystery.
Production of these models was planned to be launched by the end of 2024. However, at the moment, the assembly of cars has not yet begun, which raises questions about the timing of the project.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the new "Volgas" have not been released on the market.
