After the hard landing of the Ansat helicopter in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Rosaviatsiya conducted an airworthiness check of 38 such helicopters, which are part of the fleet of the National Sanitary Aviation Service (NSSA) of Rostec.
All inspected aircraft were approved for operation. The inspections were carried out in accordance with the rules established by the regulator.
The helicopters, both those in operation and those in storage or in the process of being manufactured, were checked in cooperation with Russian Helicopters and the NSSA. Specialists from the Kazan Helicopter Plant and Russian helicopter operators promptly carried out all the necessary service activities.
The inspection was initiated after an incident on October 22, when an ambulance helicopter made a hard landing in a forest in the Nizhny Novgorod region, resulting in five injuries. An inspection of the helicopter revealed the destruction of the tail gearbox HR-23 and the absence of some elements of the tail rotor blades, which led to the inspection of all Ansat helicopters.
Ansat is a Russian light multi-purpose helicopter designed to carry 7–9 people. It was developed at the Design Bureau of the Kazan Helicopter Plant (KVZ). The helicopter is capable of carrying a payload of up to 1235 kilograms in the cabin, making it suitable for various tasks, including passenger transportation, medical evacuation, and various transport and operational tasks.
