From January 1, 2025, major banks in Russia will be required to enter the details of fraudsters into their systems within one hour. This innovation, introduced by the Bank of Russia, aims to combat fraud and reduce the number of transfers to fraudsters' accounts.
Previously, banks had to enter data about fraudsters within two hours, but now the time has been halved. Other credit institutions will continue to enter such details within three hours.
In addition, banks connected to the digital ruble platform are now required to notify the Central Bank of attempts to fraudulently transfer digital rubles within three hours. These measures will help improve the security of financial transactions and protect customers from fraudsters.
