Roscosmos cosmonaut Ivan Vagner spoke about scientific experiments, the equipment for which was installed or dismantled at the International Space Station (ISS) during extravehicular activity on December 19.
According to him, the main task was the installation and connection of equipment for the "Monitor for the entire sky" device, which studies the universe in X-ray wavelengths. Cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin also took part in the experiment.
In the process of spacewalking, we removed the "Test" samplers, with which the habitat on the outer surface of the ISS is studied. And, finally, the "Endurance" experiment, which studies the change in the properties of various materials in a vacuum under the influence of radiation and a strong temperature difference. Materials are exposed on the outer surface of the station in special tablets. We took them back to the station with us.
Vagner and Ovchinin went into outer space at 18:36 Moscow time on December 19. Initially, it was planned that they would spend 6 hours outside the station 43 minutes, but the final duration of the exit was 7 hours 17 minutes.
