In early 2026, a new crossover will be produced on the AvtoVAZ assembly line for the first time in the last 30 years. This was announced by the head of the plant, Maxim Sokolov. It was previously planned that the model would be released in the second quarter, but the timing may be adjusted.
The head of AvtoVAZ noted that advanced technologies, including robotics and automation, are actively used on the territory of the enterprise. Currently, about 1,300 robots are involved in production, and the level of automation on the Granta car welding line reaches 85%.
The company is actively developing production, including through support measures from the state. According to Sokolov, the level of localization in the entire product line is 95%.
The main thing is that the cars are of high quality. Because if a person likes it, they will gladly come to our AvtoVAZ.
There is now a difficult competition in the automotive market, Mishustin noted. He wished AvtoVAZ to "take its rightful place fairly."
Earlier it became known that AvtoVAZ had prepared presentation versions of Lada Iskra in various colors: sedans, station wagons and cross-station wagons. These cars will participate in the advertising campaign.
As www1.ru reported, the basic configuration of the Iskra sedan includes two airbags, ABS, ESP, electronic power steering, two electric windows, audio preparation, heated rear window and black stamped wheels. There is no air conditioning in this version.
