High activity is observed on the Sun. A flare of the highest class X can occur at any moment. This was reported by the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Over the past day, the probability of large X-class flares forming on the Sun has sharply increased. The highest risks are associated with two groups of spots, numbered 3932 and 3933. The magnetic configuration of the centers, which determines, among other things, the probability of flares, is close to the highest category "beta-gamma-delta". The 3933 region today, after recalculation, received this class.
It is worth noting that on December 24 of this year, astronomers from the Institute of Applied Geophysics (IPG) recorded five solar flares of class M. The most powerful reached level M4.7 and lasted 10 minutes. Flares can lead to emissions of solar plasma, which can reach Earth, cause magnetic storms, and affect the well-being of weather-sensitive people.
