Unique footage of the launch of S-300PS SAMs: worked in ballistic mode

The trajectory of the strike is corrected by the 30N6 radar

The Network has published for the first time clear footage of the launch of 5V55S guided anti-aircraft missiles from 5P85S launchers of an early version of the S-300PS air defense system of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Based on the small dispersion of 5P85S launchers, it can be concluded that 5V55R hypersonic guided anti-aircraft missiles could be used in this case in the operational-tactical ballistic mode "surface-to-surface".

Immediately after launch, high-impulse solid propellant rocket engines with an operating period of 8-10 s provided the missiles with a maximum flight speed of about 2000 m/s and entry into a ballistic trajectory.

After the completion of the active section of the ascending branch at an altitude of about 12 km, the missiles rushed to the apogee at altitudes of more than 35 km, while being accompanied by a 30N6 battery illumination radar and receiving radio correction commands from it for flight to the target area.

On the descending branches of the trajectories, the 30N6 radar continued to correct the 5V55R missiles until they went beyond the "screen" of the radio horizon, after which the 5V55R missiles, with a circular probable deviation of several tens of meters, using INS, struck the target objects.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces began to use ultra-long-range bombs with UMPB.
