Russia has begun to work on the issue of creating new formations of the Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) of medium range. This was announced by the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel-General Sergei Karakaev.
He noted that in the future it is planned to maintain a two-component structure of the nuclear grouping. This will allow inflicting "unacceptable damage" to the enemy in the event of an attack on Russia.
In order to implement the decision announced in October this year by the President of Russia to prepare for the serial production of a new medium-range missile system, a decision is being worked out to create new formations and determine their deployment locations.
Earlier www1.ru reported that MLRS "Smerch" and "Tornado-S" will approach the power of "Iskander" thanks to new 300-mm shells.
