The Russian Su-57 fighter may not be suitable for India; the country wants to see a different aircraft in its air force, namely a Western-made one. This was reported by the EurAsian Times.
According to the source, the Indian authorities are considering the French-made Rafale and the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen as alternatives. The list also includes the American F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, F-15EX Eagle II, and F-16.
The reasons why New Delhi is not satisfied with Russian equipment have also been named. Firstly, the sanctions that the United States constantly threatens for cooperation with the Russian Federation. Secondly, India believes that Russia allegedly does not generously share the latest technologies with it.
At the same time, due to the high cost of maintenance, complexity, and insufficient number of transferred technologies, India previously rejected the F-35.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Smerch and Tornado-S MLRS will approach the power of Iskander thanks to new 300-mm shells.
