Development of the latest helmet for Su-57 pilots was met with skepticism: the US and Israel have had this technology for many years

DSA: for the Russian defense industry, the creation of such a device has become a qualitative leap forward

Russia has developed an advanced helmet-mounted targeting system (HMTS), which is designed to significantly simplify fire and movement control of the new fifth-generation Su-57 fighter. The authors of Defence Security Asia noted that the development will reduce the technological gap between Russian 5th generation fighters and the Chinese J-20, as well as the American counterparts F-35 and F-22.

The HMTS provides for the display of important information directly on the helmet visor and allows the pilot to control the aircraft and onboard weapons with a glance.

The US, Israel and a number of Western countries have been using advanced HMTS for many years. They are similar to those that the Russian defense industry has just created. The appearance of an analogue in the Russian Federation will be a qualitative leap in equipping pilots.

The authors of the material suggested that the introduction of HMTS could have been influenced by joint exercises with Chinese fighters, including the J-20.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the latest Yarl body armor was handed over to Russian sappers, the products passed all resistance tests.
