The Russian Aerospace Forces have begun using a new type of high-precision projectile — a universal interspecific gliding munition designated UMPB D-30SN. Its interspecific nature lies in the possibility of launching it both from aircraft and from combat vehicles of the Smerch and Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems.
The UMPB design includes a unified module with folding wings, a guidance or correction system, and tail assembly. An important element is the "Cometa-M" antenna, which provides protection of navigation signals from interference, the suppression efficiency of which is reduced by 300 times.
The weight of the delivered explosive substance of the ammunition is 250-300 kg, which is 2.63-3.1 times more than the weight of the explosive substance in the high-explosive fragmentation warhead of the Smerch or Tornado-S MLRS rocket.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia's ability to shoot down the Peklo drone missile was assessed: it is slower than Storm Shadow or Neptune.
