The "Roselectronica" holding has begun supplying industrial protocol converters for the oil and gas industry. These devices replace foreign solutions at critical information infrastructure facilities. They integrate sensors, controllers, and automation systems into a single network using the Modbus protocol.
The converters are developed and manufactured by BPO "Progress", part of the "Automatica" Concern. The devices are used in automated control systems. They provide interaction of equipment with Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP protocols. The converters are based on the "Baikal-1" processor and have an RS-485 interface. This allows data to be transmitted up to 1200 meters over twisted pair.
These products are analogues of foreign devices. This simplifies the replacement of imported equipment while maintaining the functionality of systems. BPO "Progress" converters have high performance characteristics. They operate in the temperature range from -40 to +70 degrees Celsius and at humidity from 5% to 95%.
Igor Selivanets, General Director of BPO "Progress", said that the industrial protocol converter is a "translator" that combines heterogeneous equipment into a single network.
