The "Roselectronica" holding (part of Rostec) has developed the "Forecasting" software module based on artificial intelligence (AI), which recognizes the origins of storms, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and other natural disasters. This was reported by the holding's press service.
Launched as part of the meteorological complex software, the "Forecasting" module is capable of receiving, processing, and analyzing hydrometeorological and geophysical information received from hydrometeorological spacecraft.
The complex analyzes the following factors:
- land and sea surface temperature
- air flow speed
- movement speed of the earth's crust, ice, snow
AI predicts the likely trajectory of their movement. According to Alexey Nikitin, General Director of the Television Research Institute, the "Forecasting" module does not replace a meteorologist, but helps in their work. "Roselectronica" is expected to begin deliveries of the system to customers by the end of 2024.
