Assembly of servers has begun at the former Samsung electronics plant in Kaluga, which was leased to the Russian distributor VVP Group. The equipment is being assembled under the brand of the Russian manufacturer "Graviton," which specializes in the production of laptops, personal computers, all-in-one computers, and other electronics.
Previously, the Samsung plant in Kaluga produced TVs and monitors for the Russian market and a number of neighboring countries, such as Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Belarus. However, after the start of the Special Military Operation in 2022, Samsung left the Russian market, ceasing supplies and production, including components for its plant in Kaluga.
In 2024, the plant was leased to VVP Group, which began subleasing its facilities. One of the tenants was LLC "Revolutionary Technologies," whose owners are involved with the "Graviton" brand. Currently, "Graviton" produces about 20,000 servers annually at its own facilities, but with the capabilities of the Kaluga plant, which can produce up to 500,000 units per year, production could significantly increase.
Nevertheless, to ensure full-scale production, it is necessary to provide access to specialized components, such as processors, motherboards, and cooling systems.
