Росатом станет в 32 раза быстрее испытывать характеристики радиационных материалов

New methodology reduces testing from eight years to three months

The new development in advanced materials was announced by Alexey Dub, First Deputy General Director of Rosatom Nauka, at the IV Congress of Young Scientists in Sirius.

The goal is to reduce the time it takes to create materials. This is related to digital solutions. And the second is accelerated testing. Here I want to give an example, we have achieved, together with "Prometey", the creation of a methodology. For radiation characteristics of materials, primarily corrosion cracking and strength, the [developed] methodology allows you to actually turn an eight-year test period into a three-month one.

Similar solutions need to be developed for studying other material characteristics. Short-term testing will allow developers to achieve results faster and gain competitive advantages in domestic and foreign markets.

Dub believes that the development of Russian modern materials will also be helped by the creation of a National Russian Materials Database and the transition to modern industrial production technologies.
