The Omsk Baranov Motor-Building Association will launch the production of small-sized turbojet UAV engines within 1.5 years. This was announced by the region's governor, Vitaly Khotsenko, after a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov.
Given the high industrial potential of the region, we plan to organize the serial production of engines for drones in Omsk.
The Baranov plant was founded in 1916. The company is one of the oldest in the country for the production of aircraft engines. It serially produced jet engines for MiG and Il-86, Il-114 aircraft.
In the 1990s, many workshops were closed at the plant, and workers were laid off. In 2019, the company became a branch of the United Engine Corporation (UEC).
