New Factories and Cars: AvtoVAZ to Spend Over 45 Billion Rubles on Development in 2025

The money will go towards developing capacity and implementing R&D on power units and cars

AvtoVAZ plans to produce 500,000 LADA cars from its assembly lines in 2025 — the same number is planned to be produced by the end of 2024, despite the sanctions. The mark of 500,000 cars per year — is the maximum record for this manufacturer in the last 10 years.

As it became known following the meeting of the Board of Directors of AvtoVAZ, which was held by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, in 2024 the concern solved a number of important issues of ensuring the technological sovereignty of its products. Today, AvtoVAZ has about 1650 suppliers, more than 80% of which are Russian companies, and now AvtoVAZ has the maximum localization among Russian automakers.

As part of the meeting of the Board of Directors, AvtoVAZ's investment program for the next year was approved – according to the plan, it will exceed 45 billion rubles. The main volume of these funds will go to the implementation of R&D on automotive projects, power units, as well as to the development of capacities. The approved production plan for 2025 involves the production of 500 thousand cars.
