The Russian Aerospace Forces have begun to actively use the new guided bombs "Grom-E1". The range of the ammunition is about 120 km thanks to the built-in rocket engine, said David Axe, an analyst at the British newspaper The Telegraph.
According to him, these bombs make it possible to strike from Su-34 and Su-30 fighters, while remaining out of reach for most air defense systems.
The universal guided missile with satellite guidance "Grom-E1" provides high-precision destruction of a wide range of ground and surface targets with known coordinates.
Characteristics of the "Grom-E1" bomb:
- Starting weight — 594 kg
- Warhead weight — 315 kg
- Maximum launch range — 120 km
- Type of guidance system — inertial + satellite
- Type of warhead — high-explosive fragmentation
- Type of fuse — contact
