Drones to be Launched in Crimea to Prevent Forest Fires

New unmanned aerial systems will be used in the next fire season

Video cameras will be installed and unmanned aerial vehicles will be used to monitor the situation in the forests of Crimea. This was announced by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea, Olga Slavgorodskaya.

To prevent fires, we are purchasing unmanned aerial systems and we have the "Lesokhranitel" system, which covers about 65% of the forest fund and allows us to detect fires at an early stage. The Ministry of Emergency Situations will transfer 39 out of 49 purchased video cameras to us to monitor the fire situation.

The planned measures are intended to be implemented due to the occurrence of large fires in Crimea in the summer and autumn of this year. In September, about 15 thousand cubic meters of wood were destroyed by fire.

Earlier www1.ru reported that in Russia a drone was tested, developed specifically for the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
