Rosatom Showed the Rotor of the Turbogenerator of the Russian-Turkish NPP "Akkuyu"

The next stage includes the installation of the turbine and the connection of auxiliary systems.

At the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey, the installation phase of the rotor part of the turbogenerator has been completed, which marks the approach to the final stage of the turbine unit assembly. According to Rosatom, the installation of the turbine on the turning gear is planned before the end of 2024.

In the machine hall of the first power unit, the rotor was successfully installed in the stator of the turbogenerator, which will allow moving on to the most important stage – the installation of the turbine and the implementation of the necessary pre-start tests.

Sergey Butskikh, General Director of JSC "Akkuyu Nuclear", noted that the rotor starting operation was successful thanks to the coordinated work of specialists and engineers of the supplier company.

The successful completion of these works is an important step in the construction of the NPP, which will become the largest nuclear power plant in the world, based on the Russian project. The next stage includes connecting all auxiliary systems to the stator and centering the turbogenerator shaft line.
