Demand for Smart TVs from Domestic Brands in Russia Increased 2.5 Times

TVs from Sber and Yandex are Gaining Popularity in the Russian Market

In Russia, there is a growing demand for TVs from domestic brands — it has increased by 2–2.5 times over the year. The main reasons for the popularity include the stable operation of Russian entertainment platforms and affordable prices for equipment.

In 2024, interest in Sber smart TVs with voice control increased 2.5 times, and in devices from Yandex — two times. In the first three quarters of the year, Russians purchased 5.4 million TVs for a total of 160 billion rubles, the average price was 29.2 thousand rubles. The market increased by 6.6%. Users prefer models with artificial intelligence and high resolutions, including 8K.

According to Avito, sales of Sber TVs for the nine months of 2024 increased sevenfold, and the brand occupies 7% of the market, following Samsung and LG. At the same time, DEXP holds 3% without growth. The growing interest in domestic TVs is explained by the availability and modern technologies, such as built-in voice assistants. In the first half of 2024, orders for TVs from Yandex increased by 90% in monetary terms and by 30% in units.

In 2024, the increase in sales of Russian TVs continues due to active investments in marketing and expansion of the assortment. According to forecasts, the share of "ecosystem" TVs will grow. Sales of domestic brands increased by approximately 65%, offering high-quality products at prices lower than Chinese counterparts. Interest in smart TVs is growing due to the diverse content on Russian platforms, which makes the choice of users logical in the context of limited access to foreign services.
