Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu announced plans to launch the international transport corridor (ITC) "North - South", which will reduce the delivery time of goods from the Baltic to the Indian Ocean to 14 days. According to preliminary estimates, the new route will be more cost-effective compared to alternative options.
Shoigu also noted that in the future it is planned to combine the ITC "North - South" with the Northern Sea Route. This merger will significantly increase the cargo load of the routes, which may increase their efficiency. He emphasized the importance of the United Arab Emirates as one of the key partners in this area, which opens up new opportunities for cooperation in the field of transport logistics.
