Нулевой транспортный налог на электромобили в Москве продлили

Currently, electric cars account for only 1% of sales

In 2025, the capital will retain the transport tax exemption for electric vehicle owners. According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the use of electric vehicles is not limited to temporary frameworks and is not just a fashion trend. In the future, most cars will run on electricity or hydrogen.

[The tax] remains at zero. We extend it [the exemption] annually.
Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow.

The issue of using environmentally friendly vehicles is relevant, Sobyanin emphasized, as cars account for more than 80% of harmful emissions in Moscow.

Currently, very few electric cars are purchased — only 1% of the total volume. However, their number has increased 20-fold in recent years.

An electric car is a vehicle with an electric motor that receives energy from an external source. An electric vehicle differs from cars with an internal combustion engine and electric transmission.

Earlier, a three-seater urban electric car cheaper than one million rubles was presented in Russia. It can be used as an alternative to taxis or car sharing. The range on a single battery charge is 120 kilometers, with a maximum speed of 45 kilometers per hour and a total weight of 350 kilograms.
